A superb new late season variety from the Scottish Crop Research Institute. Every now and again we have had the pleasure to introduce a new variety that is just that ‘extra’ special. Bred by the HRI East Malling and recommended as a successor to Honeyoye, the glossy red conical berries have a very even shape and better overall quality. Flavour very good. Early Season.

A superb variety with exceptionally large fruits. Heavy cropping and reliable with excellent, firm textured juicy fruits. Very good colour. In California yields 81b per plant have been picked in just 24 weeks during the summer!

 A popular variety on the continent for many years which will also do well here. Senga Sengana is an upright, vigorous grower, a prolific blossom and runner producer. The elongated berries have a soft flesh and a sweet flavour. Heavy crops can be achieved with little maintenance, an easy to grow variety although Mildew can sometimes be a problem. Season second early. Suitable for an outdoor bed or container growing.  Photo is generic. 

A new ever-bearing variety from H.R.I. East Malling. From a cross between Rapella and Selva. Tango is unique in that it typically produces the bulk of its crop during the mid-July to mid-August period, significantly earlier than all other ever-bearing varieties. The cropping then continues with a small yield until late in the year. Tango has consistently outyielded all ever-bearing and day neutral varieties in trials and is at least 50% higher yielding than Rapella! Fruits medium size, conical. Heavy cropping in the first year, in following seasons the crop is much less. Vigorous upright growth that displays the fruits well. Flavour very good.

 Fruit large, short blunt conic, irregular, skin bright vermilion red, attractive, seeds yellow, flesh pale orange red, subacid, high dessert quality, ripens in midseason and the plants have good general disease resistance. Named for the pleasing light shiny orange skin colour which is salmon-orange inside and well flavoured. Another heirloom of the strawberry growing history, this variety was raised in 1950.
