For garden planting, plant 15″ apart in the row with 3-4′ between rows. Most varieties can be planted in pots, containers, windowboxes, even hanging baskets as well. They will yield well for 3 years and usually start to decline after that, most professionalls will re plant every 4 years or so.

Strawberries will be sent out now in pots as they establish better than from an Autumn planting. You will then get a full crop next summer.

The wonderful new variety that we introduced in 1988. Honeyoye is a very early variety for picking early June onwards. Very heavy cropping for an early variety, far higher quality, good, healthy growth and bright glossy red fruits with a firm, juicy, mouth-watering flesh. Easy to pick. Ideal for exhibition, by far the best flavoured early variety. A new variety from America with a great future. Very highly recommended, already the most popular early cultivar by far.

    £9.95£18.95

A superb new mid-late season British raised strawberry with a 4 week picking season which goes on for 10 days after Elsanta, the predominant mid season variety. It is typical to be harvesting Lucy from Mid June to Mid July. Lucy bears attractive, shiny heart shaped berries that have a very juicy, sweet taste that are well displayed for ease of picking. • Mae Strawberry Plants

    £9.95£135.95

A superb new early strawberry.Quite an unusual new variety in many ways for ‘Mae’ has attributes more suited to the home gardener than the homogenized Supermarket industry the Horticultural Breeding stations tend to cater for these days. Most importantly Mae has outcropped all other early strawberry varieties in trials, this is hugely impressive because it is the earlies which are generally the least generous with their yield. Mae has more than a dash of the good old fashioned strawberry flavour, soft sweet and very juicy. It is not the most disease resistant strawberry you will grow but nor is it…

  • Malling Opal Strawberry Plants

    £9.95£18.95

Malling Opal has quickly established itself as one of the very best everbearing/perpetual strawberries. A little earlier in season than most of this class, the fruits begin to ripen in early August typically, and then go on until the frosts. This can be extended still further with cloching. Malling Opal has cropped very well in containers; it has been suggested that such plants brought into a mildly heated greenhouse or conservatory, would still be cropping at Christmas. The berries of this high quality variety are large and sweet and also relatively soft – a trait that has endeared it already…

Very high yielding with very high quality fruits produced from a good compact plant that has the benefit of useful disease resistant. Easy to pick, the conical fruits are of good size and colour and keep well after picking. The flavour is excellent. Marmalado has the benefit of forcing well under pots and clothes and is highly recommended as ideal for garden culture. The fruit comes away from the stalk and has a very good strawberry flavour. Makes a lovely jam, a classic in pies and good for yogurt and all dessert use. Melody is a good new addition to the modern varieties and will prove ideal for those who still…

  • New – Diamante Strawberry Plants (California)

    £9.95£135.95

A strawberry just made for the small garden – pots – even windowboxes:Because Diamante is so compact it enables a planting distance much closer than normal strawberries, especially between the rows, and it is just perfect for your patio and yes, even windowboxes. Last Spring we planted 8 Diamante in a standard 32” plastic windowbox, in standard peat based potting mix with one application of slow release fertilizer and no other special treatment aside from watering. We enjoyed a weekly pick of pleasing, quality strawberries for over 12 weeks and the crop was extended well into November by bringing the…

    £9.95£135.95

With so many Perpetual or Autumn Fruiting Strawberries having been introduced commercially in the last 5 years, that Flamenco has established itself amongst experts as the most revered of all is remarkable. But its list of attributes quickly justifies its rapid rise to eminence. Quite simply Flamenco has outperformed all of its rivals in trials. The vigorous healthy plants perform well over wide ranging growth methods be it the open ground, containers and under polytunnels. The cropping period runs from July until well into October and…
